The... Role

The Safety & Security Manager (SSM) reports directly to the Accountable Manager and is responsible for the provision of independent safety oversight of flight and cabin operations, engineering and ground operations, giving advice and information on all aspects of safety related to the operation, and promoting a strong safety culture.

Key Duties/Responsibilities:
• The Safety & security Manager is the Nominated Person approved by the Regulator, Transport Malta - Civil Aviation Directorate (TM-CAD), to manage the Malta Air Safety Management System.
• Developing and maintaining processes and procedures related to risk management, safety investigations, flight data monitoring and safety response to ensure that they are in compliance with EU (EASA) and State (TM-CAD) regulations, Third Country obligations (NTSB etc.) and international (IATA, ISASI, etc.) best practices.
• Analysis and reporting on Safety Performance Monitoring through the reporting system.
• Oversight and Management of the Malta Air Safety Office.
• Promoting and developing a Just Safety culture across the airline.
• Promoting Safety awareness utilizing all organisational communications platforms.
• Monitoring the effectiveness of these processes and procedures and providing continuous improvement
• Ensuring that Malta Air safety processes and procedures are aligned with Ryanair Group Policy
• Fluent English, both written and spoken
• Eligibility to live and work in the EU
• Practical experience in an aviation safety role
• Meets the requirements of EASA regulations ORO.GEN.200 and CAMO.A.305
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with a wide variety of internal and external agencies
• Excellent numerical and organisational skills, with a high degree of attention to detail
• The ability to prioritize, delegate and work to deadlines
• Analytical and evaluation skills
• Strong MS Office, specifically, PowerPoint and Excel skills

B1 Licensed Engineer daily duties include:
• Maintenance and Aircraft preparation of Ryanair aircrafts
• Routine maintenance checks and airworthiness queries
• Line Maintenance Operational Activities - Supervise and delegate personnel as operation demands to ensure smooth running of operation.
• Processes and Procedures - Implement Company policy and procedures to ensure smooth running, compliance and development of the station.

Mechanic/CAT A Mechanic daily duties include:
• Assist a team of engineers with maintaining aircraft
• Bird strike inspections and Ramp 2 checks.
• AOG support in European Outstations on request.
